Award-winning poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar has slammed Why This Kolaveri Di, the song from the film 3 which has become a rage across the country.

The song, which has everyone hooked, including legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth, failed to impress the master lyricist.

"Some get over awed by success but to me it is only the quality that matters . Ideally what is desirable is success with quality," he posted on Twitter.

Several Bollywood stars and prominent personalities have been raving about it. The song has been sung by National Award winning actor Dhanush for the upcoming movie 3, directed by his wife Aishwarya. The music has been scored by Anirudh Ravichander and the simple, nonsensical lyrics composed by Dhanush himself.
